From the town of Csella, we walk down Viale Europa alongside the Genova-Casella railway, we reach the hamlet of Cortino and, right after, Crocetta d'Orero m 468 sl, where we meet the Alta Via dei Monti Luguri waymarks.
At the crossroad we turn left, we walk on a path that passes near a little church in the hamlet of Tiggia, then we walk uphill towards the slope of Monte Sella m 778 sl. We proceed the trail on a path marked with a red cross waymark until the hamlet of Crociera di Pino. We follow the path with several ups and downs on the right slope of the mountains where the fortification of Genova are erected, while on the left we can clearly see the trail of the Casella-Genova railway.
We reach Trattoria Ostaia de Baracche restaurant m 430 sl, we walk downhill under Forte Castellaccio, the walls of St. Bernardino and St. Bartolomeo until we reach the Righi cable railway station.

A pleasant alternative to reach Genova from Casella is certainly by train: you can get to the city in about an hour, catching the train of the historic railway, riding the narrow-gauge tracks. For further information: www.ferroviagenovacasella.it.
