WAYMARKS:

Starting from Serra del Monte hamlet (497 mt sl), we climb for 2,5 km on the asphalted road towards Cà del Monte hamlet (685 mt sl), which is an interesting panoramic viewpoint, we cross a farmhouse and turn left at the crossroad onto a dirt road, leaving the Astronomical Observatory on the left.
We continue along the dirt road crossing the ridge on the border between Piedmont and Lombardy, among oak and chestnut woods, and we reach the Guardamonte Archeological area in about 20 minutes.
We cross the educational centre and skirt a farmhouse on our left, then we walk down along the asphalted road and turn left onto the municipal road to Bagnaria. We turn left, after 300 meters we turn right onto the gravel road. We walk down among mixed woods until we reach Passo della Caiella (351 mt sl) and then, after a series of ascents and descents with beautiful views above Curone and Staffora valleys, the little town of Castagnola (531 mt sl).
