WAYMARKS:

Long stretches marked by red-white paint waymarks.

From the hotel of Capanne di Cosola (m 1496 sl) we continue towards Bogli for 500m, then we turn right on a dirt road that is steep and uphill, which takes us first to the summit of Monte Cavalmurone (m 1670 sl) and immediately after Monte Legnà (m 1669 sl).

Going down the ridge, we reach Sella di Cartasegna (m 1466 sl), keeping to our left we go into a beech woods and we leave Monte Carmo on our left  outflanking it on the westside. The route now goes down a large dirt road to the hamlet of Capanne di Carrega (m 1365 sl); we turn left onto a tarred road for a short distance which takes us to Casa del Romano. At the road sign which shows the change of region, we go right on a dirt road that takes through woods and fields, a grass slope along the watershed between the valleys of Trebbia and Borbera.
We go up mildly through fields with a lovely view of Monte Carmo, Lesima and Alfeo;  we arrive at a small flat picnic area, in a few minutes we reach a plateau where we can see beautiful views of Brugneto Lake.  There is a mild descent towards the west and we arrive at Passo delle Tre Croci (m1495 sl).

With a trail marked with two yellow rhomb to our left, we continue on a flat path along a ridge covered with beech trees, then we go down abruptly for tens of metres.

After a short flat distance, we go up steeply for 15mins to reach the summit of Monte Antola (m 1597 sl). Descending from the summit, we come to a small group of abandoned houses and a refurbished church; going south-west we can have a rest at the refuge of Monte Antola. From this refuge starts a flat trail that becomes a mule track with steps that descends with a remarkable steepness in the direction of Torriglia; first we arrive at Casa Piccetto (m 1386 sl) then on to Passo dei Colletti (m 1297 sl), the hamlet of Donnetta (m 999 sl) and finally Torriglia (m 769 sl).
